Northeastern was not operating in the area when I made the appointment, so I had to wait three weeks. The call representative was upfront about the cost for inspection and the cleaning cost per flue. They gave me a timeframe that the service tech would stop by (9-12am)
The service rep arrived about 9:30. He was polite and very knowledgeable. He inspected all three flues (boiler, fireplace, wood stove). He found cracks in the ceramic liner for the boiler/fireplace, noted that there was no sleeve for the wood stove flue (code violation - could not clean), and recommended that the top of the chimney be rebuilt. He gave me quotes for fixing the boiler flue and the top of the chimney.
He cleaned the fireplace flue and did an excellent job. There was no mess whatsoever in my living room.
The final cost for inspection and cleaning exceeding my expectations.

Installed flue liners for new wood stove and existing furnace in 2 1/2 story 1880 Victorian. Used 1 liner I had purchased for stove (thinking I could DIY). Another local firm had swept chimney and attempted installation but, with admirable integrity, realized that there were complications beyond their capabilities. Northeastern opened the brick chimney in the attic and discovered that there was a confluence of flues at about 2nd floor ceiling level, several feet below their opening. We concluded that there was probably a fireplace behind the furred drywall of the bedroom below. I opened that wall and there indeed was an abandoned fireplace. They sealed of the flue at the top of that fireplace, threaded the liner down the other branch to the hearth on the first floor, and connected the new stove there, then replacing the masonry in the attic. They needed to grind out a small arc in the bricks above the active fireplace to make room for the shielded stovepipe that was required by code.
Installation of liner for gas furnace in the basement was accomplished with less excitement but similar expertise.
Overall, excellent, professional service with admirable problem solving on the go.
Small complaint of slush tracked in as the three workers shuttled in and out.
Scheduling proved to be a hassle because of the snowstorms. I had the impression that they made a special effort to fit us in after learning that our reference was from Angie's list.

Chimney Inspection, new stainless steel chimney cap covers, furnace liner, chimney liner, chimney repair and wood burning fireplace insert purchase and install.

I originally called Northeastern Chimney to inspect and get a quote on repair of chimney caps. The inspection was $150.00 and was a very detailed inspection. After the inspection (Tim a very polite young man) provided me with a detailed list of items in need of repair. Tim explained each item and why they needed to be repaired. Since my home and furnace is older the furnace flu needed to be relined, chimney needed to be swept, 1 cap needed to be replaced and crown needed to be repaired, blue stone installed for bottom 1/2 of the chimney for where rain washes off. I had also asked about a fireplace insert. Tim was very helpful and guided me to make the best purchase since there are many different options available today. I originally was going to go with a less efficient insert then later decided to go with a more efficient fireplace inset more like a wood stove. Tim and Dave (the owner) made it a point to work with me to ensure I was making the right decision based on listening to my wants and needs. These guys went so above and beyond to make sure I picked the right solution for me. The work was all completed in a day or two. In the end I had chimney crown, and caps repaired, new stainless steel chimney tops installed over the chimney caps, furnace liner and chimney liner installed, blue stone added on lower part of chimney for rain wash off, Chimney wash, a new Flame 1.9 wood burning insert installed and chimney cleaning for a little less than 7K. I was very happy with the professional service, good advise and workman ship. If you read on Dave's website, Dave Says They aren't finished until you are 100% satisfied. That is an understatement! I will definetly refer and suggest you use them for your project! In todays day and age anytime you're spending money on your home you're waiting for people to screw you, be dishonest and screw you for your hard earned money! I'm glad I have these guys as a list of future resources for any future work I may need.

They called me a few days before the initial appointment to reschedule (due to rain and thunderstorms), but rescheduled for the following week. I had both chimneys inspected, neither of which actually needed a cleaning. The technician looked up, down, and around both, walked around on the roof a bit, and patched a hole in the side of one. As a new homeowner (and never having had a fireplace in my life) I had lots of questions, which he was happy to answer. He wrote up an estimate for the recommended repairs, which unfortunately could be pretty expensive, but he explained the importance in terms of safety.

I contacted this company through Angie's list to do a chimney/flu inspection and chimney cleaning. I was quoted a price during the initial phone conversation, and a date for the service was set-up immediately. The service provider arrived at my home promptly and did a thorough cleaning of my fireplace chimney and inspection of the furnace flu. The service provider was very professional and took great care to not leave soot anywhere in my home. He showed me pictures of my furnace flu to support the claim that a liner was needed to make the furnace flu safe for use. He also showed me pictures of my fireplace chimney that indicated it was in proper working order. I have not chosen to have the furnace flu liner installed as of yet, but when I do, I will be calling Northeastern Chimney LLC. They will also be my first choice for yearly cleanings.

When we purchased our home last year we knew we found a dead bird in the flue during inspection and knew we needed to have a chimney cap installed. We contacted a local business "Nayaug Chimney Services." We have since discovered that Nayaug is actually owned by Northeastern Chimney and so I am contributing to this listing. The inspector came and was very thorough and deliberate. He made sure the areas he walked stayed clean with booties. He educated me about our chimney and it's design. What impressed me the most was that when he discovered and showed to me that our furnace flue was completely disintegrated with pieces cracked and falling he did not use scare tactics, but rather explained the significance of the code violation and the potential danger this condition posed. It was a bit of a surprise to need this much more extensive service but clearly needed to be completed. The work was completed timely and as estimated. I am very pleased overall. The only surprise was the information that the company I originally contacted was owned by another one. I would simply encourage the owner to let people know that they may see a truck and worker with different company name so that it doesn't catch someone off guard and potentially undermine trust. Count me as one more fan of the company and will use them again for our needed masonry work.

Four feet of the top portion of the chimney had to be taken down and rebuilt. Then a cement cap was placed on top along with a metal cap. At a later date they returned to seal the chimney.

The owner David came to our house and gave a detailed explanation of the cause of the problem of why water was leaking into our bricks of our fireplace. He then gave us a complete estimate with all the repairs needed to be done in order to fix the problem and a gaurantee of his work. A couple of weeks later the owner and the rest of his crew came and completed the job in two days. They did a fantastic job. The chimney looked exactly as it was originally designed, and the problem was completely fixed. The owner and his staff explained every aspect of the repair. They took great care in making sure nothing was damaged and completely cleaned up everything at the end of the repair. Everyone with this company from the person in the office who did the schedules to all of the people who came to the house to do the repair and then the sealing were professional, courteous and very thorough. I highly recommend this company.

Estimate and cleaning was done along with a furnace connection to the chimney. About a month later, a team of 3 came over to install the stacks, build a new chimney with brick that replicated the existing brick (they have a large number of composites to choose from). A chimney cap was placed over top of the chimney and the old brick disposed of. The work took almost two days. They worked a full schedule, efficiently, non stop, except for lunch, on two very hot days. Everyone was cordial, worked well together and a were pleasure to be around.
